CREATE MENTAL SPACE

“By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstance. Gradually we develop mental equilibrium, a balanced mind that is happy all the time.”

- Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Advice from Atisha's Heart

Venerable Atisha was the Buddhist meditation master responsible for bringing Buddhism into Tibet. After teaching in Tibet for many years, he gave some final words of advice - from his heart -  for practicing meditation before he left to return to India. In this series we'll explore some of the main points from Atisha's advice and look at how to apply it practically to our meditation practice and our life. By training in these beautiful verses, we can become a more peaceful, more patient, more compassionate and more focused person.

Peace of Mind Is Possible

Training in Dharma, or Buddha’s teachings, is a method for discovering which parts of our mind bring peace and which bring problems, fears, and anxiety. Buddha called the latter delusions, because their only function is to cause suffering. In this series of classes learn to see the various mental habits that we’ve come to rely on, and check for yourself to see what works and what can be abandoned. Plus, learn some new ways of thinking that will change how you see yourself and the world around you.
